No major competition promotes parity like the NFL: it's their core marketing message. Yet following the first ten matchups in this campaign, this doesn't represent a landscape featuring uniform distribution between the good, the bad and the mediocre. NFC Clarity

Within the National Football Conference, for the most part, the picture becomes more distinct. The Rams and Seahawks (both standing at seven wins, two losses) seem like the most balanced franchises in football, and secured overwhelming triumphs during Sunday's action. The 6-2 Eagles notwithstanding their difficulties maintain one of the most talented rosters throughout football, similar to the Packers (5-2-1 record). Even the Lions (six and three), who have been inconsistent in trench play and navigating tension on their coaching staff, have shown they can hammer quality opponents. AFC Playoff Chaos

Over in the AFC, postseason landscape is a jumbled mess. Your four division leaders after ten games: the Colts, Patriots, Broncos (all at 8-2) and Steelers (five wins, four losses). Consider that carefully. Kansas City isn't there. Buffalo is missing. Baltimore and Cincinnati are absent. The usual contenders, backed by premier quarterback talent, possess either significant personnel gaps or have been hit by injuries.

From certain perspectives, this represents the NFL's perfect scenario. But watching this season's top AFC teams in the American Football Conference continues to seem unusual. Components of every squad pass the championship smell test, yet not completely. Franchise Analysis

Colts Situation

Starting in Indianapolis, their quarterback hasn't yet achieved pumpkin status. Yet the past two games have raised concerns. He’s back to committing turnovers and faltering under duress. Considering the Ravens opened with a 1-5 record and still look like capable of division victory speaks volumes regarding the complete conference.

Traditional Powers

The Ravens represent a segment among three elite teams – together with Bills and Chiefs – powered by their MVP quarterbacks, who could still create the most fear in opposing teams should they reach postseason. They’re the No One Wants To See ‘Em teams, however, both franchises cannot get out of their own way.

Bills Struggles

Last week, the Bills were riding high post Chiefs triumph. On Sunday they suffered among the season's worst defeats this year. They didn't simply fail versus the Dolphins; they suffered humiliation, losing 30-13 as visitors. This represented Miami's initial victory versus Buffalo in several seasons.
